Shasta Independent Living

Shasta County foster youth face a difficult transition into the world of adult life. Our goal is to assist them by providing resources and skills that will enable these young adults to succeed in their daily living after they have left foster care.

Our interactive program gives them the tools to not only to survive, but to become successful at living independently. We have structured our program to provide personal support as a main function including the following:

  • Monthly Program Bulletin

  • Life and employment skills training

  • Experiential groups

  • Health, hygiene, and safety training

  • Banking and consumer purchasing

  • Community resource knowledge

  • Assistance with college application, registration, and financial aid

  • Group Learning Opportunities and Social Events

  • Transitional Housing Program referral

Foster youth in a group, empowered with life skills for independence.
