Dear Valued Families,

We are so grateful to all of our wonderful YFP families and sincerely thank you for your ongoing commitment to fostering children in need. Your role as a foster parent is vital to providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment for the children in our community. We greatly appreciate the time, care, and compassion you invest in their well-being.

We are also writing to ask for your kind and timely assistance in maintaining up-to-date records for our foster family files. Accurate and current documentation is essential for several reasons:

• Continued Approval: To maintain your foster home status and ensure continued approval, it is required that specific paperwork, such as background checks, training certifications, auto insurance, etc., is current.

• Advocating for the Child: Keeping a detailed record of the foster child’s medical appointments, school updates, and behavioral changes helps all members of the team—including caseworkers, lawyers, and therapists—make the best decisions for the child’s care and future.

• Case Management: Up-to-date files help our agency effectively manage your case, ensuring that services and support are provided without interruption.

• Protection for Your Family: Maintaining proper documentation helps to build a “safety net” around your family and assists in answering any questions related to your fostering journey, in addition to remaining in compliance with Community Care Licensing regulations.
